Atlanta spared from the worst

Whether attending a party, meeting with new clients, or at church, I am constantly asked about the Atlanta real estate market.  I think folks expect to hear the worst.  The national news media has convinced Americans that the real estate market across the country is destitute!  Just as we can’t have a national weatherman to tell us that temperatures across the U.S. are sunny and in the 80s today, we can’t rely on the national news media to generalize real estate across the country.  Fortunately, for us in Atlanta, we are not faced with horrible conditions as they are in places such as Florida, California, and Arizona.  While we do have more inventory than normal, if homes are priced correctly – they are SELLING!  In the past month, I’ve put 2 of my listings under contract (one in 14 days and one in 4 days).  The buyers are there, if the price is right!  The most important thing for both buyers and sellers is to have realistic expectations and focus on the local market statistics provided by your real estate agent.  I’m busier than I’ve ever been and that’s a good sign!  Call me if you’d like to talk real estate.  It’s my passion!

By the way, check out this article from the AJC entitled “Atlanta Spared from Worst” for more information about the local market.
